HARRY
Is a lovely 8 year old gentleman who has just come into DCGR kennels, on arrival he was found to be slightly underweight and dehydrated, due to an abscess on one of his teeth, so first port of call was the vets for antibiotics and a dental, due to this and his age we have decided to delay neutering him until he is fully fit and well. Despite the pain he must have been in Harry is a lovely gentle boy, who greets everyone with a big waggy tail, he just wants a loving home for his retirement with a comfy bed to lie on. UPDATE - Poor Harry has had to have 38, yes 38 teeth removed! He has been left with just his front canines and a few teeth at the back of his mouth, unfortunately as all our foster homes are currently full up he is having to remain in kennels, though we are hoping that now all the bad teeth have been removed he will soon start to perk up a bit.

CAL
Is a handsome boy who will be 8 years old in July, he has just come into DCGR kennels where he will be neutered and vaccinated shortly. Cal is an easy going boy, curious to learn all about the big 'outside' world he is now living in. Cal will make someone an excellent companion, more information as we get to know him.

JackJune2010.jpg

JACK
Is a lovely 5 year old boy (who looks older, bless him).  Jack is superb on the lead, and we have been told by his fosterer that now he is coming out of himself he certainly is not a plodder! He has never met small dogs and is not cat friendly. He has now been moved into a foster home where he is settling in really well with all the other greyhounds. He has now been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

JEFF
Jeff will be four years old in August and is in foster care where he is living happily with two other resident greyhounds. Jeff is a lovely wee boy, very affectionate and loyal, he just loves to be with you. Jeff is housetrained, walks well on a lead and is great with children, Jeff also loves the car.

TAFFY
Is a handsome if slightly battle-scarred boy who is just over three years old. Taffy has now been moved into foster care, where he has settled in really well. He has a lovely friendly nature, likes to play and is very good on a lead, he does have a few scars and only half a tail, but he does do a lot of tail wagging! Taffy is a very intelligent boy who is quick to learn and we are sure he will bring lots of fun into the life of anyone who adopts him.

Des101.jpg

DES
Is a big handsome red/fawn boy who has now been moved into foster care, where he has settled in really well with the two resident greyhounds. Des is now five years old, is neutered and microchipped, the end of his tail is missing, we presume because he wagged it too much in kennels - this happens to some dogs when they split the end of the tail and it won't heal. Des is very excited when he first meets you, but soon settles down, he is inquisitive but very friendly, he has met other breeds of dog, large and small with no bother and is now  housetrained, though we think he will always be a thief where food is concerned, even taking it from under a hot grill! But for all this he is a very loving boy, who just loves his cuddles and will give someone a lot of fun and laughter watching his antics. Des is dog of the month for July.

Solo4.jpg

SOLO
Is a super little lady who is full of fun and loves life.  She has settled well into her foster home with the 8 (or is it 9?) other greyhounds! Solo is very affectionate, walks well on the lead and loves travelling in the car. She is fully innoculated, neutered and microchipped. Solo is not cat friendly and, unusually for a greyhound, she can jump.  Therefore secure fencing is required!

BELLA
Is a pretty girl, mainly white with a couple of black markings, who will be 6 years old in August, she has just come into DCGR kennels, where she has settled well. Bella has been spayed and vaccinated. More information as we get to know her.

Maddiestanding.JPG

MADDIE
Is a 7 year old dk brindle ex-racing greyhound who has recently come back into DCGR care through no fault of her own. She is housetrained, spayed and fully inoculated. She has a lovely character and loves to play with furry toys. She is at present in foster care with 3 other greyhounds without any problems and although we are told she is very interested in small dogs, we have yet to put this "to the test". First impressions are that she is not cat tolerant. Like most greyhounds, she is very much a "people" dog and would make someone an excellent companion.
